Abbotsford is the fifth largest city in BC, with a population of over 115,000 as well as the largest city in the Fraser Valley. Encompassing eight communities, Abbotsford stretches from the Fraser River to the US border and from Chilliwack to Langley. Abbotsford also known as the “City in the Country” is famous for blending urban amenities with rural comforts.
Wildlife and nature isn’t hard to find in the Abbotsford area. Cultus Lake Provincial Park offers ample fishing, wonderful campgrounds; a large warm lake; waterskiing and many water sport opportunities; plus plenty of wildlife-viewing opportunities.
Abbotsford is also a flourishing agricultural tourism destination. Here, people can pick fresh produce; take tours of modern farming operations, visit harvest festivals and fairs as well as browse the farmers’ markets.
One of the province’s most popular events is the Abbotsford Air Show, held annually in August. The show features thrilling military and civilian flying displays.
