Thanks to Kelowna’s mild climate and day and days of sun, golf enthusiasts can indulge themselves with a long season on scenic fairways. Get your adrenaline up with scuba diving, rock climbing and other thrilling adventure activities.

Warm months aren’t the only time to visit Kelowna, BC. The winter activities are every bit as exciting, and boundless. With its snow-capped mountains and awesome views, Kelowna, and the Okanagan Valley, is an exhilarating place for skiing and snowboarding. For those who love to explore lush, aromatic forests, just put on snowshoes or cross-country skis and prepare for miles of awe-inspiring trails. You’ll see wildlife, birds and amazing views all along the way.
All year-round, festivals and events abound. To the delight of your family and kids, our many parks play host to musicians and entertainers. There’s indoor and outdoor theatre, symphonies, concerts and venues that provide a wide selection of the performing arts. Explore galleries and museums and enjoy the downtown cultural district. There are also harvest celebrations, as well as much-loved and very tasteful wine festivals. Kelowna’s at the heart of B.C.’s Okanagan wine region. It boasts a number of wineries that offer tours, educational seminars and, of course, samplings of internationally acclaimed wines.

Nightlife in Kelowna
Kelowna, BC Is renowned for its sunny days. Yet, when the sun goes down, the excitement stays high.
In a city filled with bars, pubs, dance clubs, theatres and an innumerable variety of restaurants, there’s no reason to call it a night. Play pool at one of our pubs. Catch a movie or live show at one of our many theatres. Have a gourmet meal with one of the region’s award winning wines. Or sit on the beach, under the stars, and enjoy an outdoor concert.
No matter how early you rise and how late you stay up, you’ll never tire of things to do. There is a casino to visit, or see a show, which just shows the outstanding performances of some of Kelowna’s superstars. The 879-seat Kelowna Community Theatre delights audiences year-round with a variety of professional productions, as does the 332 seats

There is plenty of outdoor activities to do such as fishing, boating, horse-back riding, hiking, bird watching just to name a few.
Kelowna is a kid friendly place as it provides things to do for them, which they will enjoy. Bring them to the petting zoos where they’ll be delighted by bunnies, llamas and goats. Rent bikes or scooters, play mini golf and tour the city and the playgrounds, water parks and beaches. Be sure, too, to take to the trails on horseback.
With over 200 freshwater lakes in and around Kelowna, the water activities can entertain your family forever. Swim, and splash it up at the children’s parks. Much of Kelowna’s beautiful parkland is located along the sandy beaches so picnic areas (with concession stands and washrooms) abound, as do a wonderful assortment of family restaurants.
Depending what time of the year you come, there are festivals happening year round so make sure you know when they are happening. These are a few that occur in Kelowna.

Fat Cat Children’s Festival
Truly a community event, the festival is funded locally and operated by volunteers. With an exciting array of free activities and entertainment, the festival attracts more than 15,000 children, parents, and grandparents every year. Every year a theme is promoted to inspire unique and interesting activities, costumes, and entertainment.

Life and Arts Festival
A fun, family oriented Festival that offers an eclectic mix of visual and performing arts, music, live theatre, street performances, culinary arts and experiences that appeal to a wide audience from young to old. The Life & Arts Festival highlights and showcases the areas best and brightest, while bringing more artists, opportunities and audiences into our Cultural District. The Life & Arts Festival includes a Festival Village with three stages of entertainment, an Artisan Marketplace and the illuminArts Lantern Celebration.

Mardi Gras Street Festival
Mardi Gras is a great day under the sun, but the fun doesn’t stop at 5:00 pm. Many downtown restaurants and pubs have activities and themed events all through the evening. Plus, Kerry Park bursts with fantastic entertainment from Parks Alive!” Stages are scheduled with live family entertainment. There’s also a children’s activity zone including a dunk tank and climbing wall, and some of the hottest bargains under the sun from downtown retailers.

Okanagan Wine Festivals
There are three Wine Festivals held in the Okanagan Valley with many events taking place in Kelowna. Sample award winning wines. Attend an educational seminar. Or, celebrate with live entertainment and wine paired with fabulous local cuisine. More information, including an event schedule, is available at the Visitor Info Centre.

Parks Alive
This non-profit program brings a touch of art and culture to Kelowna’s lakefront and parks from June to September. Throughout the summer, Parks Alive offers a variety of music and entertainment the whole family can enjoy. Plus, it’s free. Snowfest
With its beginnings in 1973, the third week in January has provided Kelowna-area residents and visitors alike an opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of events aimed at helping shake the winter blahs. Although some Okanagan Valley winters can be a lot milder than others (there have been years when Snowfest organizers prayed for snow and below-freezing temperatures) we usually get enough of the white stuff to go around. In fact, nearby ski areas are renowned for their 'Champagne Powder.'
